Remembering Amy

On Sunday last week, the 15th of May, I was clearing out an old phone and removing all my contacts as I had done an automatic transfer of them all over to a new one.  All of a sudden I had this overwhelming sadness as I reached Amy’s number in my phone.  As silly as it was, it felt like I was bad for removing her number, then I remembered I would have it in my new phone anyway.  It was still a very sad moment and it made me nostalgic and look back over this blog and old conversations with her.

I guess it was somewhat of a coincidence in timing that it has been one year now since we lost her ever happy presence in our lives.  There are still times I am randomly scrolling through my friends list and I pause at her name, or I’m looking for some decoration or furniture item and I get a little smile on my face when I find Alouette items in my messy inventory.

She is forever in our hearts and our lives in one form or another.  Even though it’s been a whole year it sometimes only feels recent when something happens that reminds you of her and you have to just sit back and remember for a minute.  What is one of your most treasured memories of her?  Would you share some happy memories of Amy/ Scarlett in the comments below or on the plurk post and help make today a day to remember all the good times, the laughs, the sillyness and her all round wonderful presence.

Nicola, the friend Amy was going to visit in England has kept her memory going strong and still gone and travelled to all the places that Amy was supposed to go visit with her.  During her travels to these places she has taken Baymax and photographed him enjoying all the places in Amy’s honor.  I have made a collage of some of the pictures (below) but you can see more photos, and read all about the travels of Baymax, over on the dedicated blog here.

We miss you dearly Amy, you’re never out of our hearts or our memories, you touched so many lives.  Soar high and strong my friend.
